Description
These cloud phenomena are a mixture of three different styles of contrail (or perhaps chemtrail) all intersecting and engaging to create something rather extraordinary. One contrail looks lacy or crenellated. Embattlements on ancient castles were crenellated - that’s where that word comes from. But then you have the wider dissipated contrail also merging with a huge swath of vapor that looks as if it’s another “beam me up, Scotty” transport device. Looking closely, you can see the body of a sylph - a spirit of air, and one wonders what it’s up to. Or perhaps you see something else. Whatever is seen I’m sure we can all agree it makes beautiful abstract art - especially when tinted by the rays of the setting sun, as it was here around 6:00 pm on June 15, 2020, over the Sonoran Desert of Arizona about 50 miles south of Phoenix.
