Description

This lovely rosebush was encountered at Boyce Thompson Arboretum - an Arizona state park situated between Phoenix and Tucson in the Sonoran Desert. While this natural park was created to celebrate the diverse and extraordinary flora of the Sonoran Desert, non-indigenous species like this rose bush are cultivated near the entrance by the gift shop. So not only did this plant and its blooms appear somewhat out of place, the way it was reflecting the light gave it an other-worldly feel. I tried to capture it the best I could, but alas - it’s just another rose bush someone planted in the desert in the shade. Or is it?
