Description
While I’ve seen many signs threatening prosecution, I’ve never seen a sign that was prosecuted itself until this one! The sign is posted on the back fence of private property bordering remote public land adjacent to the Vekol Wash in northwestern Pinal County about 50 miles south of Phoenix in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona, USA. Truth be known and quite ironically, I think this poor sign riddled with rusty bullet holes was shot up by the previous owners themselves who violated local laws limiting the use of firearms within a mile of residential property. They did this recklessly while drunk and riding around the desert in their off-road vehicles terrorizing the neighbors, the neightbors’ pets, the wildlife, and destroying important wildlife habitat which has never completely recovered. Thank goodness they sold the property and moved away. But that poor, prosecuted sign remains a not so subtle reminder of the wild west that once was — or is?
