Everything is greener and brighter in the Sonoran Desert after a monsoon rain. A lovely giant saguaro cactus - icon of the southwest - stands out against the backdrop of the lush greenery that grows by the Vekol wash - especially after it floods. I love what the clouds were doing in the background of this unique saguaro. It almost makes it look like the photo was taken with a fish-eye lens but it wasn’t. This area is in northwest Pinal County about 50 miles south of Phoenix, Arizona.
