Description
Desert Globemallow (Sphaeralcea ambigua) is a beautiful orange wildflower that blankets the Sonoran Desert of Arizona in times of plentiful rain. While that’s mostly during monsoon season in the summer, they also pop up in the middle of winter. Of course, it’s a regular spring bloom - rain or not. This scene is from my front yard where I take most of my sunset photos. The saguaro cactus on the hillside is my “Y Cactus” in many of my titles because from a certain perspective it looks like the letter “Y”. This photo was taken in mid-day however, presenting a view that to me is nice for a change for I rarely capture it. Any way you look at it, it’s heaven to me, because it is my Arizona Sonoran Desert home!
